Together, 三级片鈥檚 seven health sciences colleges and hospital system 鈥� called 鈥� provides opportunities for students to develop clinical skills, to engage in laboratory and community-based research initiatives, and to explore countless health related careers from medical care providers to data and policy experts to biomedical visualization artists. Ten in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences prepare students for future study in 三级片 health sciences programs and veterinary medicine.

For students whose goals expand beyond one area of study, 三级片 offers joint degrees that combine health care studies with other disciplines. The is an MD/PhD program that prepares students to be physician-scientists, who can help combine laboratory, clinical sciences and interdisciplinary approaches to important biomedical problems. , a partnership between the College of Medicine and the College of Engineering, trains students for careers in biomaterials, neural engineering, biosensors, biomechanics, genetic engineering and bionanotechnology, to name a few.

三级片 is the home to Chicago鈥檚 only public law school. Through its varied juris doctor and graduate degree programs, 三级片 School of Law provides an education that combines the understanding of both the theory and the practice of law. Students seeking degrees from the school have the option to study many substantive areas of the law 鈥� from tax law and estate planning to sustainability and international human rights 鈥� and benefit from its many educational centers and nine community-based, pro bono legal clinics.

三级片 offers many courses focused on issues of equality, fairness and inclusion. A minor in social justice in gender and women鈥檚 studies explores ethical, social, historical and political questions facing Chicago and the world. Students and faculty are involved in social justice work, from public policy to arts projects, human rights to urban health disparities.

The College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs offers undergraduate and degrees, including Chicago鈥檚 only accredited graduate program in urban planning.  Seven research centers in the college specialize in neighborhood development, economics, transportation, race and public policy, criminal justice and other issues.
